Damien Hirst shocks bereaved parents with his diamond encrusted baby’s skull

FOLLOWING ON from his controversial diamond skull stunt a few years ago, artist Damien Hirst revealed another diamond encrusted skull, but this time of a child. He  named it “For Heaven’s Sake”.

Hirst has pushed social boundaries and offended many bereaved parents when he produced the skull, which is that of a two-week old baby from a nineteenth century pathology collection he acquired. It’s cast in platinum and encrusted with over 8000 pink and white diamonds by the royal jewellers Bently & Skinner.

The skull is expected to go on display later this year in London and there is no indication of the price.
