Tree Bench

Dutch designer Jurgen Bey shot to fame when he unveiled his “Tree Bench” in 1999. The fallen tree trunk serves the purpose of a multifunctional seat with chair backs fixed in to represent a symphony of nature and culture. The chair backs are bronze casts and collide beautifully with the rugged texture of the trunk.

But how do you actually post it? Jurgan states that it’s ridiculous to transport tress when they are locally available, so only the chair backs are for sale.

The set of three bronze chair backs are a staggering £9460! If you’re lucky enough to have spare ten grand in the bank waiting to be spent, you can go to www.droog.com and buy them. Oh, you’ll only need to find a random tree trunk too.
