Last chance for funded Interior Design Degree

Distance learning Interior Design School, The National Design Academy (NDA), is reducing its Diploma course fees to make them even more affordable and to encourage more students to fast track onto a Degree course before the government cuts higher education funding, causing huge fee increases from September.

Until 30 April, NDA’s Diploma in Professional Interior Design and Diploma in Professional Curtain Making & Soft Furnishings will only cost £250 (down from £395) for those students eligible for funding*. A further £50 off is available if the course is paid for in full before the start date, reducing the price to £200.

These courses are flexible and can be studied via part-time distance learning allowing students to continue with existing work and family commitments. For students who would rather study face to face with a tutor, the funded* cost for the In-Studio course has dropped to £400 (down from £595).

These new Diploma prices apply regardless of whether students intend to progress onto a Degree or not and no special entry requirements are needed, but once completed they do provide a basis for starting a new career in an exciting industry or access to a Degree programme.

NDA’s Diplomas are validated and accredited by AIM Awards as being equivalent to standard A-Level and provide a great introduction into interior design that will develop the skills and confidence required to work on projects for family and friends and the qualifications essential to progress onto a BA ( Hons ) Degree.

To enrol visit to www.nda.ac.uk/enrol and complete the enrolment form, or call their enrolment team on 01159 123412 and start your education today.

Points to remember

• Degree funding ends on 30 August. Students must be enrolled before this date to still receive funding for a Degree. After this you can access a student loan.

• Diploma prices dropped to allow students to ‘fast track’ onto a Degree course before the government cuts its funding and fees go up in August.

• Instalment plans are available to help spread the cost.

*Funded prices apply to residents of England, Northern Ireland, The Channel Islands, Gibraltar and BFPO. Please see the website for full funding eligibility. http://www.nda.ac.uk/funding/

Not got the A Level grades you wanted? There’s still hope!

Today for many students will be one of the most nerve racking times of their life. I went through the experience myself, driving the six miles to college to pick up my results felt like the earth had stood still for ten years. Butterflies were fighting in my stomach and my mind was racing,  just hoping I’d managed to secure a place at my first choice university.

Clearing was a thought a little to scary to ponder on! The worst part was seeing students from across the country live on television, opening their white envelopes and screeching the letters “ABB!”

The pressure young people are under to excel and perform within our education system is choking, especially with the prospect of our future generation leaving with an average of £50,000 debt strapped around their neck! It’s shocking to learn that over a quarter of a million students will be without a place this academic year and universities on average only offering 80 places through clearing. But there is hope…

The removal of government funding has had a positive effect in exposing alternative routes to higher education to students, which have been available for many years and arguably offer higher levels of support to students compared with traditional universities.

One of which is the National Design Academy in Nottingham, who’ve been providing Diploma to Degree level Interior Design courses through distance learning, for over twenty-two years! They’re also the first and only UK educational provider to offer BA (Hons) in Retail, Heritage and Outdoor Living Design. It’s also the last chance to secure a place with the NDA before all funding disappears.

So if you’ve had your heights set on studying interior design at university and haven’t quite got the grades, this could be the perfect, less costly and equally recognisable way to gaining that qualification you want. All you need is one A-Level in art to be able to enrol on the Degree program which consists of a Foundation Degree course (equivalent to years 1&2 of a university degree) and then the BA Hons level (equivalent to year 3).

There’s no need to panic, you will reach your goal! All the Degree courses provided by NDA are fully accredited by Staffordshire University, internationally recognised and delivered online. Not to mention that they have a team of highly skilled tutors available five days a week from 9-5 to give you advice over the phone or through email.

Studying with the National Design Academy gives students the opportunity work at a pace that suits them and also offers those wanting to gain valuable work experience the opportunity to do so. It’s widely understood that industry experience is highly regarded by employers as very important.

To find our more about how you can still achieve a Degree in Interior Design contact the NDA on 0115 91234 12 to speak to a member of the team or visit their website www.nda.ac.uk.

After all the uncertainty around university fees and funding of recent weeks, we now know that all students enrolling prior to July 2012 will still receive funding, keeping their fees below the increased figures announced from 2012.

When you start a Foundation Degree at The National Design Academy (specialists in Interior Design distance learning courses) before July 2012,  you may still progress to a BA (Hons) on completion of the Foundation Degree with lower fees*. So there has never been a better time to embark on a degree in interior design.

You can enrol with the National Design Academy now to keep your fees as low as possible by visiting their website www.nda.ac.uk. You can also find lots more information about  NDA workshops and open days.
